Commenting on Tracks

Overview

Comments are one of the best ways to ask for feedback on Highnote. With any of the comment card types, you can drag and drop a card on any timestamp on your waveform.

You can also manage your comments further by editing, resolving, deleting them, and more. Learn more about commenting below.

Types of Comments

There are four types of Comments:

Text

A Text comment is a great way to ask questions or leave notes on your track. Whether you’re asking about how something sounds or making a note about what you might want to change next time, a Text comment gives you plenty of room to type your thoughts.

Sticker

A Sticker comment lets you leave a simple like or heart on your favorite part of the song.

Voice

Voice comments are for those moments you can’t explain it with text. Add a Voice comment and press record then say what you need to say. You can record an idea over the timestamp or convey more than you could over text.

Poll

Working with multiple collaborators with opinions? A vote might be in order. You can use the Poll comment to tally up the votes and choose what everyone thinks is best.

Managing Comments

You might find yourself having to manage your comments once they’ve been added. Highnote offers a few options for this. You can:

Resolve

Once you’ve reviewed a comment, you can resolve it. You can always unresolve this later using comment filters.

Edit

Make a spelling error or want to reword what you wrote? Text and Poll comments can be edited.

Getting lost in the comments on your Track? Copy a direct link to your comment card and send it to your collaborators to get right to the point.

Delete

You can delete a comment if you added a duplicate or made a mistake.

Comment Filters

If you work with multiple collaborators, it may be easier to focus on one person’s feedback at a time. Within your Track page, on the right-hand side above the WAV form, you can click or tap the filter button. Here, you can choose to show Unresolved, Resolved, All comments or specific members and their comments.
