Highnote is a secure, central platform for you and your audio projects. Share and discuss with your collaborators, store your files, and compare versions in one place. You can get started with a Highnote account by signing up here or by accepting an invitation from someone you know.

Every Highnote account starts with a Space. Whether you're a Space Owner or an invited Collaborator, a Space is where your audio projects make progress.

As a Space Owner, you can add and manage Spaces with no restrictions.

You can add your first Space by going to the left-side panel and clicking or tapping + New Space. Alternatively, you can click or tap + Create on the top right-hand side in your Library and choose New Space.

A new Space will appear in the left-side panel and right-side window.

Tip: You can close the left-side panel by clicking the arrow tab on the top right hand side of the panel.

From here, you can upload your first Track. You can upload your Track in 2 ways:

1. Drag and drop your Track directly onto your Space.

2. Click or tap Upload and use the file picker to choose a file to upload.

Later, when you’ve uploaded more tracks to your Library, you can add Tracks from your Library directly.

Note: Highnote supports WAVs, MP3s, MP4, AIF, AIFF, and M4A audio files.

Comments are one of the best ways to ask for feedback on Highnote. With any of the comment card types, you can drag and drop a card on any timestamp on your waveform.

There are four types of Comments:

Replies to Comments

Making sure that feedback stays inline with a timestamp is key. You can focus with threaded replies on any comment type.

No matter which comment card you choose, you can get the discussion going and keep the conversations moving with Comments.

Tip: Want more room to talk? See the Chat feature in your Space. You can check in or simply talk shop – click or tap into the conversation through your Space then the Chat bubbles on the top right.

When you’re ready, you can invite your collaborators or Space Members. In your Space, click the Share button on the top right hand corner and go to the Members section, then add an email address.

If they already have a Highnote account, you can simply choose what permissions they have and click or tap Invite. If they don’t have an account yet, inviting them to your Space will invite them to start an account – once they start their account, they’ll see your Space.

Depending on the permissions you want each person to have, you can toggle Manage, Comment, Upload, and Download settings for each person.

Anyone who can Manage a Space has the same permissions and abilities than you do outside of deleting the Space.

Enabling Comments allows people to see everything happening in your Space and can only leave or reply to comments.

The ability to Upload or Download allows someone to either upload tracks and files, download tracks and files, or both.

If you want to, you can Remove a member of your Space as well.

Tip: Spaces are all private by default. Changing your Link preferences and toggling the Enable Link option can give public listening or commenting access to your Space.
